A Shared Service creating financial solutions that serves both the Sutton and Kingston communities.
The Shared Finance Service was established in April 2017 to support all areas of Council business across Sutton and Kingston. We provide strong financial governance and stewardship, as well as expert advice and strategic thinking to deliver our financial obligations to our community and service users. We are involved in a wide range of innovative and transformative projects in both Councils, and help drive the development of strong financial management across the Councils.
As a service, we are delighted to have been shortlisted for a number of awards and to have won a number of trophies:
- The Public Finance Awards 2020.
- Room 151 Impact Award for Innovation 2021.
- The IPE European Pension Fund Awards 2022.
- The LAPF Investments Awards 2022.
These awards celebrate the best in public finance services and recognise inspiration, innovation and exceptional achievement.
With over 130 staff and almost 60 different roles we are a large service that support various service areas of the two Councils.
Examples of the roles within the service include:
- Finance Officers across a range of service areas.
- Income and Rent Recovery Officers within the Financial Inclusion Team.
- Senior Finance Leads in treasury management, business partnering, financial reporting.
- Strategic Finance Business Partners supporting services across both Sutton and Kingston.
- Head of Service across our finance teams.
